1st Annual JCESD Marie Glenn Award 2025-2026
The Marie Glenn Award honors the legacy of an extraordinary Jefferson County educator and former Jefferson County ESD Board Member whose impact exemplifies dedication to fostering curiosity, trust, and enthusiasm in diverse classrooms. This prestigious award celebrates and supports educators new to Jefferson County who inspire students to become lifelong learners and who embrace the challenges and opportunities of teaching in small, diverse communities.
Beginning in the 2025-26 academic year, the Jefferson County ESD introduced the Marie Glenn Award to recognize exceptional educators in their first three years of service within Jefferson County who demonstrate the values Marie Glenn upheld: cultivating curiosity, building trust, and inspiring enthusiasm for learning.
Candidate Qualities
Candidates for the Marie Glenn Award should:
- Be within their first three years of service in Ashwood School District, Black Butte School District, Culver School District, or Jefferson County School District 509J.
- Be highly skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated educators who guide students of all backgrounds and abilities to success.
- Collaborate with colleagues, students, and families to create a culture of respect, trust, and achievement.
- Build strong connections between schools and communities to enhance student learning.
- Demonstrate leadership, innovation, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Communicate effectively and inspire others with their passion for education.
